Friday Night Reads: Fatima Williams

This Friday I'll be hosting my ninth #FriNightReads starting at 7p MT on my author Facebook Amazon bestseller Fatima William's The Heart of a Godly Woman. It's an encouraging and inspiring journey via poetry which can help lift up your heart and soul - something especially timely during world-wide moments such as these. Now, here's more from this week's featured indie author:

How did you first start writing?

I was taking a public speaking class in 2013 at NCCU. It was then that I wrote my first poem. It flowed from a deep place and a familiar place. At that point, a gift was stirred in me to continue. This first book was birthed from journeys that myself and other women, whom I have had the pleasure of encouraging and sometimes counseling, have encountered. Prior to 2013, I did write two plays that were performed at a church! The storyline was powerful. Now that I think of it, the gift was stirred back in 2007.

Why do you love it?

Writing is a release, it's an art, it's refreshing, it's creative! I love the finished product, I love the ministry and healing in writing for the writer and the readers. I love the freedom of expression while writing. I love the challenge of you against you, creating something not only great but effective. It is truly a gift from on high!
